ECCO Men's Helsinki Cap-Toe Oxford,Black,41 EU (US Men's 7-7.5 M) Review

I have had this pair of shoes for a couple of days now. They are pretty comfortable right out of the box. (I purchased mine at Nordstrom rack for $89.95, before tax.)

I'm a fan of Ecco shoes so far. My previous pair was a similar design, but with a buckle rather than laces. They were also made in China, rather than Slovakia, like these.

These seem to be the same light weight, materials and build quality. Hopefully they will be as durable as my previous pair (my last pair lasted for 5 years of about every-other-day wear.)

A few notes:
1. Made in Slovakia rather than China.
2. The insoles seem to be glued in, rather than removable (as per the description above.) (I used Superfeet in my last pair.) The insoles are leather, though, which is nice.
3. These are a little more narrow than previous Ecco lines of shoes. They are still comfortable, though, and I have fairly wide feet. Actually, the toe of the shoe is fairly square, and is a little longer than my last pair.
4. The Helsinki Cap-Toe Oxford style is by far my favorite in terms of looks.

I have many pairs of Fidjis now, and I have learned that I always have to go one size up as it is made smaller than most shoes. They are comfortable. I can be on my feet for hours with the Fidjis without feeling pain and some. They look good too. These shoes tend to be on the vintage side look, so if you are not into vintage, it is best to avoid this brand. I have read a few reviews from people unhappy about the vintage look which sometimes do not really come across that well from the photos. These shoes are well made.

Blundstone BL065 Review

Great boots, a little more tony than the standard blunnies. Very comfortable, unlike cowboy boots, I've walked for miles and stood for hours in these with no discomfort at all. The suede makes them a little less durable and you can't waterproof them, but they look great with a sport coat and slacks and just as good with jeans and a t-shirt.

As long as the weather is dry these are my boot of choice. In rain, mud, or snow I switch to the smooth leather version which are available in both black 63 and dk brown 62.

Highly recommended. I've been wearing blundstones for almost 20 years, they're great boots anywhere a rubber soled boot is desirable.
