If your a ground pounding grunt, especially in Afghanistan (and your unit allows you to purchase Mountain/Rugged terrain boots that aren't issued), I would strongly recommend these boots. They aren't Mountain boots per-say, but I have worn these babies for seven months and I have hit everything from roads to steep and rugged hills, and these boots didn't quit on me. Good ankle stabilization, tough exterior, as my boots didn't come apart like the standard issue. They are also very light.

-Drains out pretty quick
-Good lace retention.

The Only cons
-I can say for this excellent piece of foot wear is that it isn't water proof and tends to make your feet sweat (maybe its my socks, still don't know why)
-Not designed for cold weather (you will feel the chill)

Not only are these shoes well made, the fit and comfort is almost too good to believe. The 7.5 2A size is a perfect fit and no gaps. These shoes are true to size, at least for me. The Red/Brown color is rich and the leather is smooth. For customers with narrow feet these are the answer. I no longer wear the very high heels and do not miss them. Aravon has made a believer out of me. For years it has been hit and miss in finding shoes with style, but not so any longer.

I originally heard about Aravon shoes from a friend in Rhode Island when I visited in September 2011. Do not hesitate to give them a try. They can be pricey, but, certainly well worth it.

Harveys Original Seatbelt Bag Mini Messenger (Indigo Blue) Review

A word of warning: this bag is not light. But if you are already a Harvey's fan, you know that the durable seatbelt fabric will hold up for decades, and the bag is nearly impossible to destroy (or even damage, for the most part). Really, I could probably toss this bag out of a helicopter in the Arizona desert, let it sit on the scorching hot sand for weeks, and later recover the bag in nearly-new condition. In any event, the durable fabric translates to heavy, so this is not the bag to use if you need something light on the shoulders. There is a pen pocket plus 2 small technology pockets (cell phone sized, approximately) but no zipper pockets. There is room inside for a wallet, small water bottle, keys, chapstick, cell, and not much else. It extends to a nice crossbody length, even if you are tall (I'm 5'9). The straps are sewn onto the back (not side) of the bag, so it does lay flat against your body. I find that the strap drop when shortened as much as possible isn't too comfy for a shoulder carry, but I pretty much only use this bag crossbody style. I do wish it was lighter and I wish there was a zipper pocket. But, for a quick, on-the-go type bag, it's a good value, since you'll never need to replace it!

Like all Naturalizers, these boots are well built both inside and out. They provide very decent support for a 3" heel, and have a TERRIFIC grippy sole for wet weather, dirt and uneven pavement [but not sufficient for snow]. The sole is also almost 3/4" thick, which will protect the boot's upper from scuffing against the ground [and usually wearing through at the little toe which can't be repaired].

You can wear the shaft up or turned down and it looks great 'down' with skinny jeans or leggings. I think it would be okay [though warm, lined with faux wool in the shaft, no wool at the foot] up under boot cut jeans, but I don't own any, so I can't say for sure. I like how the larger boot makes my legs look less bulky, more slender by comparison to the boot.
