This is probably my 6-7th pair of Chacos, but the first of this 'water' kind. Tested them out last weekend and the middle arch REALLY helps with stability when rock hopping in the water!

Love the color and feel.

These shoes were recommended on the blog "Barking Dog Shoes" for people with heel spurs and plantar fasciatis, of which I have a problem. That is how I came to know of them. I decided to order them when Amazon.com had a promotion discount. And they are mostly great shoes. They look great, not like "problem feet" shoes. I have received many compliments for them. The hidden 1 inch wedge is very supportive in the heel area and my feet don't hurt at all in this area wearing these. The arches are very supportive as well. The fit of the shoe is medium to slightly wide but that works for me.
The problem: the insole has a stitch line at the ball of the foot. WHY??!! The first couple of times I wore the shoes I had such friction and pain on the underside of my feet that I messaged Amazon to return them due to this defect. I could not walk as it hurt so much. A friend recommended I put thin insoles into the shoes to cover the stitching. I tried that and found instant relief. They were again so comfortable I decided to keep them. It does bother me though that a US$149 shoe (and add duty and shipping costs for Canadians) needs to have insoles in them. They should be made without this stupid stitch line which seems to serve no purpose other than to be decorative.
Earthies: you need to redesign the insoles of your shoes so that the shoes are absolutely problem free. 4 stars for now, but maybe 5 in the future if you fix the design flaw.

Well made, good leather/stitching, comfortable.

Only problem was sizing... I wear size 10 in J&Ms and Cole Haans; however, the 10 in this loafer was about 1/4" -1/2" longer than I needed, ended up returning for a 9.5 (just something to think about if you are usually on the bottom end of your size, might be better off going a half size down).

In addition, I'm not sure why they cost so much than their competitors' shoes (about $25-50 more). After all, this shoe is made in China, whereas competitors are making them in USA and Brazil and still charging less. If the price difference doesn't bother you, I would recommend buying because they are comparable, if not maybe slightly better than Johnston & Murphy, Cole Haan, etc... Durability is yet to be determined.

Very nice boots!

They fit very comfortably, even on my wide feet, and retain a nice shine.

Even though this style may be considered "retro" by some (I had a similar pair to these in brown back in 1972), the shape of the foot has a modern, somewhat angular shape. (But not that wretched flattened duck-toe that seems to be all the rage lately.)

Versatile as well, in my opinion. Dressy enough to wear with a suit, casual enough to wear with jeans.

I was a tad worried about the hidden elastic strap that holds the buckle, but I've had these over a year now and there's been no problems. In fact, the elastic strap makes these very easy to buckle and unbuckle.

Highly recommended.

I gave this boot 5 stars because it was exactly what i was looking for. Originally located them on another site for 50 bucks more. Naturally i went with Amazon and this seller. No regrets obviously. They look and feel high quality. They did require a couple hours on ground for break in. But after that they feel good. Two issues. 1. They are a bit wide in the heel area. 2. I will consider upgrading the insoles for increased comfort. Other than that a great boot at a great price. Plus extremely fast shipping
