Walking in these shoes is like walking barefoot. Keep that in mind. That is both good and bad. If you have problems with your feet and need a lot of support then these might not be the shoe you walk around all day in. But if you and your feet are in good shape, they are incredibly comfortable. In reading some shoe reviews, I sometimes wonder how much walking the people who complain about the shoes really do.

Like all the Scarpa shoes I own, the fit is snugg. I would not used they as hiking shoes when carrying more than a day pack, and would not use them in terrain with large gravel or sharp rock, because you will feel the stones through the Vibram sole. But if you are in town, or on smoother surfaces, you will have incredible grip and feel. We have a lot of weathered granit around here and that is perfect for these shoes.

Scarpa calls these lifestyle shoes, so I'm not sure where the "cross trainer" came from... so they are fitted to be used with thin socks. If you prefer a thicker sock you will need to find a size that works. For me, all the Scarpas fit perfectly. I have never had to "break them in". Yes they become even more comfortable over time, but I have never felt that I had to go out and walk to make them comfortable.

I own the Triolet Pro GTX, the Mystic GTX, the Zen, and these Mojitos. All very different shoes but all excellent. I found that the Zen and Mojito have the "thin sock" (dress sock or liner) fit whereas the others fit better with a technical hiking sock, I prefer the Bola brand Merino hiking socks.

The Mojitos are soft shoes - like walking in socks with a lot of grip and with a cushion sole. The Zens are a bit stiffer - these work better as an approach shoe as you can walk on more surfaces comfortably. I've worn them every other day on average for the past year and they are great. The Mystics are Gore-tex and quite a bit stiffer still. These are by my definition approach shoes. The Triolets are THE BEST boots I have ever owned.

Bottom line, if the fit is right for your foot, then these are high quality shoes that I recommend highly.
