I have tried to find BLACK suede loafers from retail outlets and on-line. Often they are quite pricey and not always attractive. Johnson & Murphy has them but they are $260, for example.

These Florsheim's were priced at about $100 retail -- and Amazon discounted them about $.15 (fifteen cents.) I thought the discount was almost a joke -- but the shoes fit perfectly and are very comfortable. Being used to Amazon's street prices on many other items, I didn't think the shoes were a "great" deal as I often feel about items purchased from Amazon -- but, again, the shoes fit perfectly, seem to be well made and are comfortable.

My only hesitation -- unfounded, so far -- is that that these shoes may not be as durable as I would hope. Then again, since most other suede shoes I have found cost way more than these, perhaps it will be a case of getting what you pay for.

If asked, today, I would say "I would get these again." Hopefully I will still feel this way in 3 or 4 months.
