Prepare for outdoor adventure with the KEEN Oregon PCT hiking boot. This high-functioning women's hiking boot has a leather, webbing and synthetic upper and features a waterproof membrane that keeps water out and allows sweat to vaporize to maintain a cool, dry foot environment. The metatomical footbed cradles the foot and provides arch support. Multi-directional lugs on the outsole of the KEEN Oregon PCT trail boot provide traction on a variety of surfaces, while the cork/EVA heel cushion offers all-day comfort for long hikes. Fit tip: This boot runs a half-size short. KEEN recommends ordering a half-size up from your normal size (if you normally wear an 8, order an 8.5).KEEN Women's Oregon PCT Waterproof Hiking Boot,Slate Black/Madder Brown,5 M US Review
These boots are awesome! Right out of the box they fit, feel great, no break in time at all. I wear a 7 in a flat shoes. 71/2 in a heel and I take an 8 in a boot and then put in Spenco Arch-orthotic 3/4 Length supports--best supports in the world--add thick wool socks by Darn Tough Vermont Merino Wool Boot Cushion Sock, and wah-la!--I have a wonderful base for this great hiking boot. This boot looks clunky--like a hiking boot should look--but is so light and comfortable, you cannot tell it is clunky until you look down at your feet. Last year, I had purchased Lowa Women's Renegade GTX Mid Hiking Boot and love them--very sleek and comfy--size 8--but this boot by KEEN is less expensive. I like both boots--I have been worried about Lowa's Vibram sole because I have read too many reviews that they fall apart after a while. I still love the boot, but decided to look around for one that didn't have that kind of cautionary tale to tell. I have worn the Lowa's hiking boots on the Appalachian trail--and they were great! I now wear my Lowa's to work--I work in a prison--and they look and feel wonderful. But I wanted a boot to wear out hiking, separate from what I wear to work (I can easily hike with Lowa's--but wanted a more rugged boot for more rugged terrain) --and this boot by KEEN will be it! The price was right. Everything was right! I noticed one reviewer said she had gotten the grey color(by mistake) and wanted the brown--I think she must have hit the gray button when she ordered or else the shipper got the wrong box--but she could have sent them back and gotten the brown. The DarkEarth/Mightnight Navy is very cool! Still, if all they came in was gray--I'd have gotten them and been very, very satisfied! If they fall apart in a year or less, I'll let you know, so if you don't read any more from me because there is no more to read, all is well. I have to say, with all the great reviews, I think they will hold up very well. Most of the consumer Reviews tell that the "KEEN Women's Oregon PCT Waterproof Hiking Boot,Slate Black/Madder Brown,5 M US" are high quality item.
