I run on dirt , sand, gravel and rock trails, both rolling hills and steep mountains. I also participate in "mud runs" where my shoes need to grip in sloppy conditions. This shoe not only grips well, but it is very light weight. Normally I wear a women's 8, but this has unisex (men's) sizing which I got in a 6.5. It's slightly snug, probably because I added inserts for extra support. I have worn these about a dozen times and they have held up very well. They are my favorite trail shoe!
