These were my first pair of Garneau biking shoes. Once received, I tried them on for fit, and they fit fairly well. They are slightly narrow in the arch, or the top strap could be a little bit longer. So I said they fit ok, however once I got the clips screwed on the bottom, I wondered if I would be able to feel the screws once strapped in them and out on a long bike ride. The sole seemed rigid enough at first, but now after about 40 miles of riding, which isn't at all very far, I'm second guessing keeping the shoes. As stated, I am now starting to feel the screws bumping up through the bottom of the sole plate, and although it seems to be just a slight feeling, it is there none the less. If it doesn't get any worse as the shoes break in, I think it may be tolerable, however if it does worsen, these shoes will be worthless. Nothing like riding, or even walking in shoes that have a bolt cramming you in the ball of your foot. I've checked the screw sizing, and they are standard size screws. If they were any shorter, they would not have enough thread to hold the clip to the sole of the shoe.
