Let me start by saying that I'm going to do a comparison between this boot and the Dr Martens ST RIGGER BOOT Mens HardHat TEAK.

I work in the oilfield, so I thought these would be a perfect fit. I've tried on Dr. Martens before and like they way they had a little more ankle support for a slip-on boot.

I work on a rotational schedule, 28 days on, 28 days off. So really, I only wear these boots only half the year. In reality, my job is half in the office and half in the field, so really I only wear these boots for a quarter of the year. I've worn these for one hitch for about three weeks straight offshore.

I did get these boots wet with water based and oil based fluids, saltwater and fresh water. They did get a little loose, but nowhere near as much as Redwings. So far they're holding up pretty good and they are still comfortable.

The most comfortable boot I've worn is made by Rocky. Those were lace-ups though and I like being able to slip my boot on and off. At first they were a little stiff to put on and off, which I liked. After awhile, they tend to stretch out a bit but I find that common with any slip-on boot.

Compared to the other Dr. Marten's boot I've worn, these are 100% better. According to their website they're waterproof, slip resistant, shock absorbing, heat resistant, insulate from electrical hazards and have a safety toe cap.

Pros:

The slip on - I like they way they suck around your ankles. This seems to give them a little more support.

The padding - I like the padding around the ankles. This has saved me a couple times.

Less sloppy - Redwings tend to get sloppy after they get wet. The Dr. Martens seem to get less sloppy after they've been worn awhile. They do still get a little loose, but not as bad.

Traction - The grip on the soles of these are a LOT better than the last pair I had.

Comfort - So far they're still comfortable. I haven't worn them that long but I didn't have any issues standing up for 12 hours a day.

Cons:

Longevity - I haven't worn these for a full year but I can already tell that they're going to last longer than the last pair. One issue I did have was with the stitching on the toe. It's double stitched and it looks like it's starting to come off at the top. I don't think this will be an issue though because it is double stitched. I will post some pictures.
