I purchased this boot, wanting a good cowboy/cuban heel, good arch support, adequate width, comfortable boot. Got it, tried them on, and they meet all criteria. The leather upper is sturdy, beautiful leather. Lace hooks are well-made, and the shoe laces are perfect length. However, the tongue and the padding is vinyl - absolutely NOT what I was expecting. The vinyl is such a contrast to the quality of the boot - cheap looking, poorly stitched on the tongue only (stitching is perfect on the rest of the boot). I cannot for the life of me, understand why you would have used cheezy vinyl on the tongue of such a quality boot.

I will keep these boots. The fit is fantastic, and the comfort of the arch is as good as any shoe I've ever owned. I do not expect the tongue nor padded top to last the life of the boot, so I anticipate at some point having to have this replaced. Frankly I would have gladly paid more for the boot to get a leather tongue, and a better quality top.
