Though I already owned a lovely pair of tall flat black boots, I was looking for something more suited to everyday wear--something not as shiny/polished looking, and with a quiet tread. These boots fit the bill in their matte texture and wonderful non-marking soles. They work well with skirts or jeans--I like that the shaft is narrow enough not to wobble around my calves when worn with tights or leggings, but also supple enough to accommodate jeans tucked into them. My only criticism is that they're slightly loose around the heels compared to my other pair of Merrell boots (the Tetra Launch)--though certainly nothing to deter me from my love of these fabulous boots.
