I bought a pair of these boots a year and a half ago. They were my first Harley motorcycle boots and when I tried them on for the first time, they fit like they were custom made for my feet. I have very narrow feet and high arches, but these boots were just made for me. Within 2 or 3 days, I was wearing them all day, every day and I loved them.

About 3 months after I bought them, I took them off one night and noticed that the soles were splittling right across the ball of my foot. Well, no big deal. Harley has a one year warranty on them, so I took them back. (I did buy these from a Harley store.) They took them back, no questions asked and ordered me a new pair. When I got the replacements, the exact same thing happened 6 months later. (At least I got six months out of them instead of only 3.)

Now, I'm not hard on shoes. I wore them to work and around town like most people would probably wear a tennis shoe. I've had far less expensive shoes last me for years with the same type of wear. So I know this isn't something that I was doing. When I returned them the second time, the boot rep just happened to be in and she said this was a common complaint with the Tegans. I returned them again, this time for store credit and ended up getting a different pair of boots elsewhere.

If you're going to make these a daily wear boot, beware. I was actually really disappointed because I haven't been able to find another pair that fit as well as the Tegans, and other boots I've found actually look and feel clunky on my feet. The Tegans actually make your feet look smaller and they don't feel like a heavy boot. If Harley would make these with a higher quality sole, I'd buy another pair in a heartbeat, but I need a pair of boots that's going to stand up. If I'm going to spend over $100 on them, they better last.

I can't give them lower than a 4 because I truly loved everything about those boots, but having split 2 sets of soles in less than a year - very disappointing.
