I have had these now for about 6 weeks, time for a review...

Pros:

-Easy on/off
-Fits like a glove (when you get the right size)
-Somewhat fire resistant (do not recommend testing this, but they stood up well to me kicking burning logs)
-Can handle at least light hiking duty with no issues
-water resistant
-very attractive (IMO)
-won't set off a metal detector at the airport
-comfortable
-don't look like a barefoot shoe

Cons:

-They fit about a size small. I normally wear 13, but these are a 12. I had the same problem with my Merrell Trail Glove, so I'm thinking this is probably the case for all Merrell shoes.
-Warm, there's approximately zero ventilation. When it's 80+ degrees outside or maybe you find yourself kicking logs that are on fire, expect your feet to sweat a little

I've put about 35-40 miles on these so far including some light hiking (well defined paths with some minor rocky elevation change), and have put them through the wash to clean soot (from the burning logs) and they've handled everything I've thrown at them so far. They're losing a star due to no ventilation and being so warm. I'm not sure how that could be fixed, but it's something to keep in mind.
